Pete Davidson & Ariana, Shukette, Jay-Z’s hands, West Side Fest, foliage?
Block updates linked below. One of our members told me this last week that it is her goal to get rejected one way or the other at least a thousand times this calendar year. I’ve been noodling on that since she said it and think it might be one of the most brilliant rules for living that I’ve ever heard—though Sam, might one achieve the same or similar effects with just like a couple fewer rejections? Wondering if there is any magic to four entire digits…
I’d like to put a few things on the block’s radar. First, we talked to some folks associated with the High Line, including Ethan—their Manager of Community Engagement—and they’d like to know what they can do to help us build a little community around here. In doing so they mentioned that a very similar organization to us (Lululemon) put together a jog/run on the High Line recently, and I rather like that idea. Let us know if that interests you (Dominick and Alyssa at Equinox—what say you??). Second, there is a Chelsea community dinner this Wednesday called “Breaking Bread, Building Bonds” at Ora La Casa De Las Flores (a florist on 25th & 9th). The goal is to bring together diverse groups from the neighborhood and get them to know each other, which is kind of what we’re all about, so I’ll be there. Thank you Inge, the moving and shaking president of the London Terrace Tenants Association, for the invite.
Updates:
That Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson thing is part of block lore
Shukette, on 25th Street & 9th, is the answer
Jay-Z’s Roc-Nation is headquartered on our block (on 26th Street)
We should probably add some foliage to the block, right?
DJ Khaled at Marquee last night
West Side Fest, a celebration of arts and culture on the west side of Manhattan, is this weekend
